The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules
Also known as Messier 13 it is located 25,100 light years distant in the constellation of Hercules. It contains an estimated 100,000 stars. In 1974 a signal was sent towards M13 in an effort to communicate with possible intelligent life. In this image is also NGC 6207 galaxy. Can you find it? Look above the cluster for a star that is smudged. This galaxy is 45 million light years away.
